If the yeerk who was in Karen’s body doesn’t go back into Karen, another yeerk would have in order to keep her quiet, if not to continue the plan. That yeerk would have immediately recognized the memories from the previous yeerk infesting Cassie the deciding to disappear in the yeerk pool. This actually wouldn’t have solved anything
